We enjoyed staying here and would stay here again. The hotel was reasonably priced and charming old with amazingly efficient personnel on the reception desk. The rooms were newly renovated and good-sized with seaview and comfy chairs by the window, as for instance, no complaints whatsoever. The location was favourable, a short way from Pavillion.

Luxurious fairly clean hotel with attentive service and views of the sea. Marvellous and lovely location within short walking distance to Bournemouth Beach. Also, to an event on the pier...

Excellent location with a brief stroll to the beach and pier. The room had a fine sea view that was difficult to beat.
The parking situation seemed chaotic, as paying for a space didn't guarantee availability. The shower pressure was underwhelming, and the temperature fluctuated unexpectedly. Breakfast options were limited in terms of temperature and quality, with out-of-the-box selections that didn't quite hit the mark. Even though I appreciated the cleanliness, the room itself felt dated, and the overall experience didn't match the price point. The noise from outside music could be intrusive on weekends.

The room was new-fashioned with a bath, fans outside plus balcony and the overall experience was really really nice. Everything was very good and the stuff were efficient. The location was magnificent and best possible, not very far from a Gothic Revival church. We liked restaurants and bars close to the hotel.

Excellent food apart from the bread served at dinner time which was heavy and flat. Staff very pleasant and polite. Room quiet.
The towels - particularly bath towels - were of extremely poor quality. Bathroom could do with somewhere to put down washbags etc.Bathrooms rather bleak looking. Biscuits provided - not good.

The crab chowder at The Crab at Bournemouth near the hotel was an absolute delight, and I could seriously feast on their fresh seafood every day! The breakfast at Hermitage got me buzzing with an very nice spread, though it did get a bit chaotic. Plus, the location is gold, right by the beach and loads of tasty spots like Hot Rocks!
Parking was a right faff, very tight access and I reckon paying extra is just cheeky. Staff could do with a lesson in charm, had a proper scare when another guest needed help and the response was, well, lacking. They really need first aid training on site, you know?

I was looking for a comfortable hotel very close to the conference centre within my budget and the Hermitage fitted the bill admirably. The staff were excellent and the food was good, my room was upgraded when it was found to be double booked. I would definitely stay there next conference.
